Can my significant other or travel companion eat with me?

Yes, with the additional purchase of a Companion Meal Ticket. This covers the food & beverage costs for any individual companion 13-years of age or older for the following meals:

* - Meals are not provided during our "Choose Your Own Adventure" day

** - Lunch is only available for IoT Workshop attendees

Can my children under the age of 13 eat with me?

Yes, all children under the age of 13 are welcome to accompany you for all meals. We highly recommend enrolling your children in our free Childcare Program. Children enrolled in our Childcare Program will be escorted to the ballroom for lunch where you are more than welcome to join them and share stories about your experience so far!

How far from the airport is JSConf US?

San Diego International Airport is approximately a 40-minute drive away from the conference venue, the Omni La Costa.

Transportation to and from the airport will be provided free of charge for all conference attendees that reserve a seat arriving on August 11th (10am - 6pm) and departing August 15th (7am - 4pm).

I'm going to miss my reserved airport shuttle, what should I do?

Don't worry! Our shuttle staff will ensure that you get a seat on the next available shuttle.

I need to leave on an earlier shuttle, what should I do?

No problem! You are free to hop on any shuttle that has seats available.

Should I rent a car?

For most attendees, a rental car is not necessary. All transportation needs for official conference activities are provided free of charge including transportation to and from the airport.

There is a market available on-site at the conference venue and a full-service grocery store and convenience store are within a 15-minute walk away. Ride sharing, such as Lyft and Uber, are also readily available.

If you have a special need during the conference, please reach out to our staff and we will be more than happy to assist you.

Can I go off-site and do my own thing?

While there are plenty of activities and meals included in the conference program, we understand that sometimes people sometimes need to step away on their own or in a group. There are many options available for food, beverages, and fun in the surrounding area. Taxis and ride sharing, such as Lyft and Uber, are readily available to take you wherever you want to go. Will sessions be recorded?

Yes! All sessions will be recorded, edited, and posted to YouTube soon after the conference has wrapped up. For example, JSConf US 2018 talks are available on the official JSConf YouTube channel.

Is childcare available?

Yes, childcare is available, free of charge, for all registered conference attendees during all three conference days (8/12 - 8/14). You are free to use this service as little or as much as you want. We do ask that all children are registered two-weeks in advance of the conference so that we can ensure that we have enough staff and activities available.

Is a lactation room available?

Yes! A lactation room is available for anyone who needs it. Please ask at the registration desk for access.

Is the conference venue accessible?

Yes! The Omni La Costa is fully ADA compliant. Please contact us if you need wheelchair access to any of our shuttle transportation so that we can ensure that the right equipment is provided by our vendors.

Additionally, live, on-site closed captioning will be provided for all sessions for the enjoyment of all attendees.
